Krai Kangwon Palace was built in Phra Pok Klao Chao Yu Hua, King Rama VII reign. He assigned this palace to be built with his privy purse as a gift for Queen Ramphaiphanni. Prince Itthithepsan Kritdakorn served as the architecture and the construction foreman.
Inside the palace area, there are many other palaces which have similarly matched names in good ways such as Piemsuk palace, Pluk Kasem palace, Erbpream palace and Eempri palace. Each palace owns different features. Piemsuk palace is designed in Spanish style. It is two-storey building with a tower which serves the King’s and Queen’s chamber at present time. Pluk Kasem palace is an airy building in mixed Thai and modern style. In present, it serves as a resting place for Crown Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn. The other two palaces, Erbprem and Eempri, are twin one-storey building and serves as resting places for every Royal family member.
Inside the palace area, apart from the fascinating palaces worth visiting, there is a shell museum which every type of shells is collected here.
For those who are interested, the fee is 20 baht for an adult and 10 bath for a child.
